Well, this is my final entry in this blog. Its been a wild ride - met some good people, loss some good ones as well. Its time for this chapter to close and to write the next chapter. As you have notice, this is my first post in like 3 months. Ive been just been busy and been twittering more.
But I have decided to come back to blogging since not everything can be fitted into 140 characters. It won't be here though - it will be at http://chiemps.blogspot.com
So much memories - in the next few days, I will go down memory lane and revisit my past blog post. Then close this blog forever.
Thanks for the friendship... thanks for the memories.
I bid you goodbye... for now.

Happy chinese New Year to all especially to those who are celebrating the new year. Its the Year of the OX!
According to my Chinese Horoscope, I wont be having a good year this year (yikes!). I have to be careful with regards to Health, Work and Relationship but my finances will be great (one thing good is better than none!). If you want to know what your Chinese New Year outlook would look like, click here.
So everyone who saw me had to do a double take since they didnt recognize me with my new hairdo. And sure enough, I have become an instant celebrity at my organization. But Im pretty sure it will decipate by next week. I got a lot of praises ("ooh, you look good" "oh, you look handsome" "I like it" "You look cute") for my new do. And of course, everyone's question was "why?" The answer I gave to most is that it was time for a cut since it was long enough. I even joke around with some saying that "It was time for a change" like the slogan of the new president. hehe. But on the serious note though, it was indeed time. I grew my hair out of respect to the passing away of both my grandma in a year span and told myself that I will do a good deed. When I heard about locks of love, I decided to grow my hair and eventually donate it to them so someone who needs it. Now, with my new do, I fell lighter (my hair was really thick) and colder (brrrrr...). I guess its time to remember to always bring the scarf out. Another question by most was whether I will grow my hair out again. Hmm.. I havent really decided whether I will do it again or not. I think it will depend on how fast my hair grows in a month. If it grows the way it did, then I might go for it the 2nd time around. Time will only tell.
So last friday, I went to watch the Chinese New Year Splendour show. And all I could say is ... WOW!! It sure was a spectacular show with all the acrobating moves and classical Chinese dance. Even the host and the hostess were great, translating in both Chinese and English, making sure everyone will truly understand and enjoy their experience. We had good seats as well so I had a clear view of the stage but the lady sitting beside me was annoying. Her blue tooth headset kept on blinking. Cmon, didnt she realize it especially when I kept on giving her hints. Some people are just rude and think they can just do anything they want (calm down...). Anyway, I especially like the act when they had the drums out. I cannot wait for next year since they will have new acts.
Saturday went to the Auto show to check out some 2009 models. One of the cars on display was the Kia Soul. Its not out here yet (they are saying either Spring or Summer) but sure looks like a nice car. It sorta like Honda Element but a lot smaller. Some of the notables were 2009 Honda S2000, the new Maza RX-8, the Nissan GT-R, the BMW M5, Saturn Sky, the Ford Flex, Mercedes Benx SLK 300, the soup up Benz AMG 6.3, the Cadillac Escalade Hybrid and the VW GTO. Which one would be my next car??
Sunday was the Knickerbocker Ice Festival which celebrates New York's 400th year. I brave the chilly weather to check out the ice scuplture which were pretty spectacular especially the replica of the Half Moon vessel. I guess the weather help a lot to make sure the scupltures don't melt. They also had some of the old photos encased in ice boxes which were pretty neat. Luckily, they had warming stations everywhere or else, I would have been really frozen up.
Today is Chinese New Year. So I made some noodles last night and ate them for lunch today. It was sooo good (pat yourself at the back). Of course, its business as usual at work and was a little bit busy today. Afterwork, I headed to the gym and run a couple of laps before i suddenly felt something hurt on my left foot. It still hurts right now and hopefully its nothing. I'll find out tomorrow.
Geez, its 11pm already, got a busy day and week ahead of me so I have to start sleeping more.. haha!!

Today was the inauguration of our new president, Obama. It sure was a festive event with over a million people going over to DC to be part of the swearing in. I was, of course, stuck here doing some personal business of mine.
So I went to Sports Hall of Fame dinner last saturday all dressed and spiffed up. I had on a Calvin Klein long sleeve with a matching Calvin Klein slim tie, a Hugo Boss suit, my Florshiem black dress shoe and my AX eyewear
. Geez, this might be the only occassion this year that I will be dress up like this other than my friends wedding in July. It sure was fun though dressing up especially when Im always just in a polo shirt and khakis for work. Anyway, the speeches were alright, last years were more wittier and livelier. The food was sumptous as always and the room was vibrant. I didnt get out till past midnight since I found out the night before that I was part of the committee
.
Sunday was pretty quiet, not much going on except of the flurries most of the day. I just watch NFC and AFC championship games. And in two weeks, superbowl - Cardinals vs Steelers. Woot! Woot!!
Monday was MLK day so I didnt have to go to work. Since next week would be Chinese New Year, I needed to get my hair cut and I decided to do it on that day. So I headed to the local Supercuts and told the hairdresser that I was ready to cut it off. Sure was sad to see my long ponytail (all 12 inches) being seared off by the hairdresser but was happy to know for the fact that my hair will be put into good use by Locks of Love. She also commented on how thick my hair was so it would be surely put into good use. And now, Im back to my short hair. hmm
...should I grow it again
time will tell

Like I said on my opening line, we have now a new president. Pres Obama, hopefully he could fix this economy that we are having right now. Good luck Mr. President.
Alrighty, Troy's on TV. Gotta go...

Sorry for the late post for the recipe, I was going to do it last night but I ended up playing volleyball and didnt get home till late at night. Anyway, here is my recipe called Chicken Rollup
Ingredients
4 large chicken breast, thinly sliced
8 oz mushrooms, sliced
bunch of brocolli rabe
3 cups breadcrumbs
4 eggs, beaten
4 tsp italian seasoning
2 tsp lemon and pepper seasoning
3 tbsp Canola or Olive Oil
Preparation:
1. Boil brocolli rabe and mushroom in low heat for 10 minutes. Rinse with cold water and set aside.
2. Mix breadcrumbs, italian seasoning and lemon and pepper in a bowl.
3. Dip chicken breast in egg, then dip in breadcrumb mixture. Lay it on a cutting board
4. Take two to three small stems of brocolli rabe and mushroom and set it in the middle of chicken breast. Fold over one side until the veggies are covered and then start rolling. Set aside.
5. Heat oil in a large skillet. Add chicken roll ups, make sure to leave room on each side to make it easier to turn it over. Cover the skillet and cook for 5 minutes, uncover, turn the roll ups and cooked for another 5 minutes till the chicken is well cooked.
6. Place chicken roll ups in serving dish. If desired, sprinkle some parmesan reggano cheese on top. Top with some basil leaves for presentation.
Isnt that easy? believe me it is...
Have a good weekend everyone!!

I havent enjoyed the summer season yet and fall is starting to creep over. Some trees are starting to change hues and next thing you know, the foliage is here followed by whiteness all over. Grrr.. I always tell myself to take some summer days off from work but never did. Guess that has to wait for another year...
Its the midweek and its been pretty quiet at work due to rosh hashanah (think thats how you spell it?). School is out and so are some of the workers at my company. I did enjoyed those breaks when I was a student but now.. hmmm....
I feel a bit sore today
. I workout last night after watching a soccer game. Then I was asked if I wanted to play ball which of course I did. Geez, Ive been in and out of the game for the past few weeks and it sure took a toll last night. I had a sh**ty game. Shot poorly, played lousy defense.. just can get my rhythm to be consistent the whole game. Anyway, we had a string of wins so that balances it out. Hopefully, I will be better next week.
Heroes just gets better and better. And now I got more questions that needs answers (of course, that means I have to watch every episode now)
. Chuck was good, season premiere wasn't as good as I thought it would be (prolly due to Heroes being on my mind all the time). Finally had a chance to watch Boston Legal, like the show especially the veterans (William Shatner, James Spade and Candice Bergen). So many shows.. so little time.. sure need those TVs that allow split screen (or like 4 shows at the time) haha..
Alrighty, time to hit the sack.. have a goodnight everyone.. weekend is just around the corner
