ahhh.. the 30th of December.. one more day and its the new year. I dont know if its just me but it sure doesnt feel like its the end of the year. Could it be because I have immersed myself on work most of the time that I lost count of how many days are left in the year? That could be just one amongst the countless reason why I lost track of time and date more than the usual this year.
So I got reminded by a friend the other night about New Years Resolution - the yearly'traditional' of promising to do good during the beginning of the year and on occassions forgetting about it. haha. My New Years Resolution is...
....
....
....
Yep, I still dont have one and probably won't have one in the near future (like tomorrow). I just don't feel like I have to change anything right now. Now, before all the uproar and the cursing that you might do against this post, I should tell you that this is what I plan to do and it won't affect anyone since this is my own decision. And I'm not saying my life is perfect - no one is perfect - everyone has some holes in their lives from the upper class to the lower class that is in need of patching up. Some see it before the beginning of the year, hence, the New Years Resolution. While some wouldn't need it until during the year. As they say, why fix it when its not broken? And who knows, maybe after I finish this post, I will have one.
I'm sure most of you will have New Years Resolution. If not, and you really want one, better hurry up cause you only have 24 hours and change - excluding sleep time among other excuses - to come up with it. And follow these tips:
1. Make your resolution achievable - dont exagerate it that much if you already know you wont be able to do it (become an instant billionaire, buy a 500,000 car with 50,000 income). It will just make you feel down if you dont achieved it. Instead of trying to earn 1 billion, start small like - lets say - earn $500,000. Or instead of trying to lost 80 pounds in a month, how about losing the much weight for 3 months. Keeping it small makes your goal or resolution easier to achieve allowing you to feel better and making you want to go to the next level.
2. Don't go overboard - don't make multiple resolutions in one sitting. Would you be able to remember 20 resolutions by June? If you do, then you must be really a genius. If you asked someone to remember a sequence of 12 numbers, most human would only remember the first 7 - 9 digits. And thats just how the human brain works. If it can only remember so few, how do you think you will be able remember 15, 16, 20 resolutions? So keep it to a - lets say - 5 resolutions. The lesser the number of resolutuon, the more better you will feel when we achieved those resolutions.
3. Of course, when you make your resolution, write it down. Yep, keep it on your diary, journal, a piece of paper stuck in between your mattress or in your fridge door. Some place where you can keep it safe and be able to look at it to remind you of your resolutions. You can ask a friend to remind you about it but what if you suddenly dont talk to each other anymore. So jot it down or better, set reminders on your e-calendars to give you some headups on your resolution.
So those are my tips in keeping with your resolutions. So start thinking and jotting them down and when the clock hits midnight tomorrow. Remember to make your new years resolutions.
Have I think of any new years resolutions yet??

Till the next year.... Happy New Year!! ... in advance
