Its been a crazy 2 weeks at work and surely has taken over 90 percent of my time. Im spearheading a major project and of course I want to make sure everyone will be happy even though you cannot truly please everyone. This project involves changing a habit that most of colleagues had - sure there have been resistance but Im pretty sure that once they get the hang of things, they would be swayed to love this new system and would eventually make their work easier.
Anyway, eventhough work has taken most of the time. I still find time to do other stuff. I have started to go back to my routine workout and have start losing some of the weight I gain during the long winter season. I went out last weekend to scout some bar/lounge for a friend's birthday in May.
- Our first stop was Employees Only but that is out of the picture since they didnt let us in because we weren't in the guest list even though I told the bouncer that we were scouting places for a birthday party. They just lost a good amount of business.
- Then we were off to Bar 106 which is more of a sport trendy bar. Nice cozy couches for meeting your friends for a drink or two while watching sporting events.
- Next stop was Beast (Broadway East). At first, you would think that its just one of the bars in Chinatown but you feel like you are in a different world once you come out of the dimly lit tunnel into a nice small bar. I thought that was it but there was an upstair full of tables for dining and another separate bar which probably could be for group parties. Its also a good place for socializing but not necessarily for a group who likes to dance.
- Next was La Lupanar in East Village. We walk in and I wasn't that impress but the beats were pretty good - mostly hip-hop remix. We really didnt get a chance to check out the whole place (heard a rumor there was a lounge one floor below).
- Next up was a place near by but it turns out, they have change the name of the place. Its now called .. Bettie. It was too small for what my friend wants so we bailed out.
- The last stop was Flatiron Lounge in Flatiron District. Nice cozy lounge but no room for dancing. Got a good amount of big round couches and small tables for two. Its mostly for socializing and sit down events. We end up staying at this lounge till the rest of the night. The mojito wasnt that great though.
Another night in the city tomorrow for a Wine and Chocolate Social. Im not planning to stay up late though since I have to be back in the city saturday for a concert. Armin Van Buuren will be playing at Roseland Ballroom. Rumor has it that he will be spinning tunes till the wee hours of the morning.. it sure will be hard to do anything on Sunday but it will be worth it.
Alrighty, time to catch some snooze.
